Auditions for Prelude Chorus, grades 1-3

Initially, the director will lead the child in singing some familiar folk songs, helping him or her to feel comfortable. Next, the child will be asked to execute simple vocal exercises that explore the range and tone color of the singer. Finally, a series of melodies will be played on the piano and echoed by the singer. The audition is short (generally less than 10 minutes), painless, and even fun! Nothing needs to be prepared specifically for the audition, but if the singer wishes to sing something the director will be happy to hear it.
